Advanced Riding Techniques
All riding techniques are reasoned and within the grasp of any motorcyclist. Whether you are new to the fold or returning as a “Rusty Rider”, some basic rules and techniques will save time, money and quite probably your life.

Most riders become regular motorcyclists once the excitement and thrill of riding has worked into their soul. Nearly all start young and stay connected to 2 wheels; life and family often intervenes, but the desire to continue the experiences only a motorcycle ride can give you, stays for life.

I want you to join me in ensuring you ride as safely as possible, for as long as you enjoy 2 wheels.

About me…

I am originally from the UK, where I perfected my proficiencies with the Royal Automobile Club and Advanced Motorcycling Association training, but currently based near Durbanville, Western Cape, providing one on one training and support.  I have ridden all styles and virtually every size motorcycle ever made during the last 30 years and the experiences gained on the road, track and trail have given me many pointers and a unique perspective on safety and enjoyment at the same time. I’m of the opinion that obtaining your license does not make you a safe or experienced rider, merely legal. I seek to build on that initial 10% rider knowledge by equipping you with information and techniques to survive and recognise situations that can and do develop.

There are 4 Key Components to my training:

  • Positioning of the rider and machine, together with appropriate speed
  • Recognizing all the hazards, and they are ALL hazards, even the straights.
  • Assessing and reacting to the information gathered as you ride.
  • Rider mind-set

All 4 components are continuously monitored utilising Rider to Rider Bluetooth helmet communication and video playback.

Training IS ESSENTIAL, whether using 2 wheels for the school run, cheaper day to day transport or just getting about; placate the fears of your parents or loved ones by showing that you take the risks seriously and get their approval for your chosen means of transport. To this end, I became affiliated with the Motorcycle Safety Institute www.msi.org.za . This provided many insights and impetus to my belief that trained riders are less likely to have accidents, and forms a basis for all my teachings and lessons.

All trainees who receive in excess of 4 hours tuition will receive appropriate certificates.

Let me structure a training plan for you based on your personal circumstances. 2 hours or 10, it doesn’t matter, I’m able to accommodate your requests.
